About Sarawak

Located on East of Malaysia, Sarawak is the largest state among the 13 state in Malaysia.

The capital city of Sarawak is Kuching, a bustling city set on the river mouth. Other cities and towns in Sarawak include Miri, Sibu, and Bintulu. Sarawak has an equatorial climate with tropical rainforests and abundant animal and plant species. Known for rich with natural resources, its economy is driven by the export of oil and gas, timber, oil palms, manufacturing, energy, and tourism sectors.

Discover Nature

Semenggoh Nature Reserve is around 40 minutes outside of Kuching so it is easy enough to visit as part of a day trip. The reason that visitors flock here is to see the orang utans and the center had a rehabilitation program that lasted for some 30 years.

Cat Museum

Kuching is covered in references to cats, but perhaps the most famous is the Cat Statue that sits at the entrance of the city.


WHO CAN APPLY?

Those who fulfill the following requirements are eligible to apply:

  • Open to citizens of all countries (except Israel)
  • Eligibility by age category:

  • The applicant must own a residential house in Sarawak with a price value of at least RM600,000.00.
  • Applicants have children (under 21 years) in Sarawak (for those who already have a student pass only).
  • OR undergoing long-term medical treatment in Sarawak and certified by a Private/Government Physician registered with the Malaysian Medical Council.

Financial Requirements

  • S-MM2H Program has TWO types of applications: Application with FIXED MONTHLY INCOME or Application with FIXED DEPOSIT PLACEMENT.
  • S-MM2H applicant can show proof of monthly offshore income or pension funds of RM10,000 for married couples or RM7,000 for single applicant.
  • or
  • S-MM2H applicant can open a fixed deposit account of RM300,000 for married couples with children or RM150,000.00 for a single applicant at any bank in Sarawak.
  • From second year onwards, S-MM2H holder may withdraw up to RM120,000 (couple) or RM60,000 (single) for approved expenses related to the purchase of a house, car, education or medical purposes in Sarawak. In other words, MM2H holder must maintain a minimum Fixed Deposit balance of RM180,000 (couple) and RM90,000 (single) until termination of MM2H Program.

 

Incentives and Benefits

Domestic Helper

Each participant is allowed to apply for one domestic helper subject to the prevailing guidelines of the Immigration Department.

Education

Children of participants are able to continue their education in any private or international schools, colleges and universities of their choice subject to the admission requirements of the respective institution.

Business & Investment

S-MM2H participants are allowed to invest and participate in business subject to the existing Government policies, regulations and guidelines which are in force for the related sectors.

Taxation

Foreign income and fund remitted from abroad is tax exempt. Whereas profits and income (if any, for example from sale of property or rental) earned in Sarawak is taxable.

Visa

Privilege long term multiple- entry visa that allows you to reside in Sarawak throughout the visa validity.

Residence Requirement

Participants are required to fulfil a minimum 15 days compulso stay per year in Sarawak under the S-MM2H Programme.

Housing Loan

S-MM2H participants have higher chances of getting mortgage facility from banks in Sarawak. Subject to terms and conditions.

House Purchase

Each participant is allowed to purchase unlimited number of residential properties in Sarawak, subject to the minimum purchase price set by the Sarawak Government. For example in Kuching, a S-MM2H participant can buy a unit of residential property which is valued at RM600,OOO.OO and above.


 

Application Procedures 

Get ready to join “ Malaysia My Second Home Program”

 
Part 1 (Document Prepation)
  • Schedule a Zoom meeting with SummerPlace (MM2H) Sdn. Bhd. for personalized consultation.
  • Sign up Sarawak S-MM2H application and make deposit payment.
  • Prepare Letter of Good Conduct and other documents according to S-MM2H Application Checklist.
  • Book a time with S-MM2H agency for visiting Sarawak and make balance payment.
  • Get ready funds of RM300,000 (couple) or RM150,000 (single) if you are applying with fixed deposit placement.
Part 2 & 3 (MM2H Submission)
  • Arrange 3-5 working days visiting Kuching, Sarawak for the following activities:
  • Open a bank account at any local bank in Kuching (applicable to S-MM2H application with fixed deposit placement only).
  • Once the bank obtains an approval letter from MTAC, main applicant makes a fixed deposit placement at the bank
    • Visit legal firm for documents certification by a lawyer.
    • Full medical check-up including blood test, urine test and X-Ray.
    • Purchase medical insurance locally.
    • S-MM2H submission after completing the abovementioned activities.
Part 4 (Visa Endorsement)
  • Main applicant must arrange 3 working days visiting Sarawak for visa endorsement after S-MM2H approval.
  • Main applicant has to get ready immigration fees and other related fees.
